Where are you located?
Downtown Winston-Salem on 6th Street. 336-692-3045.
How many sessions do you need?
Every person will need a different amount of sessions depending on their goals and progression. For weight loss, our clients can generally expect to lose 1-2 pounds per week. Someone wanting to lose 20 pounds could take anywhere from 2-4 months. Other clients may only want a few sessions to answer some questions and that is all they need. Other clients like the accountability or need the medical supervision and will return for years. It is up to the client and their RD to decide how long to work together. We welcome all types of clients.
What are the sessions like?
On your first visit, your RD will obtain a detailed medical history (strictly confidential) and brief social history. You will explain your goals and purpose of your visit. There is no medical testing though the RD may obtain your current weight if you allow. You are welcome to ask any questions or even email them prior to your appointment (liz@abreanutrition.com). With the guidance of your RD, you will develop a plan to reach your goals. A personalized plan will be mapped out taking into consideration your unique obstacles and challenges. Developing a plan will be more brief in the first visit and more extensive in the follow-up sessions. In the follow-up sessions, you will review your goals, plans, obstacles, and progress with the encouragement of your RD. In addition, your RD may refer you to other health professionals (ie personal trainer, endocrinologist, counselor, etc.) in your area as needed. For clients with more complicated medical conditions, your RD will communicate with the entire health care team to ensure continuity of care.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
- Any medical test results from your physician
- Insurance card if paying through insurance
- Notebook and pen to take notes
- Medical form filled out (if not emailed in advance)
- Athletes – practice and game schedules
What if I have to cancel my appointment?
We can reschedule at no additional cost.
