Healthy weight loss that lasts is only acheived slowly. We recommend anywhere from 1/2 pound to 2 pounds per week. On average, people lose about a pound a week. That could be 52 pounds this year! Let's start by scheduling your goal on a calendar. Say you need to lose 25 pounds. I suggest giving yourself 28 weeks to do it. Now calculate: that puts you somewhere near the 4th of July! Perfect.
Remember the last 10 are always the hardest so you may want a few extra weeks to get through those.
Now tip #1 - Plan your meals. If you just wait for your hunger to overtake you and you have brownies and cookies laying all over your house, self control will not win. It won't, trust me. Plan it, make it, and it will be better than whatever is most convenient at the moment hunger strikes!
